Fast-Growing Oil Change Franchise Continues to Grow Nationwide, Opening 100 New Stores over Last 12 Months
June 25, 2019 // CHARLOTTE, NC – Take 5 Oil Change, a drive-thru quick lube franchise under the Driven Brands family, announced today that it will open its 400th location in September. Last year, the brand celebrated its 300th-store milestone and has rapidly grown its footprint nationwide by opening 100 locations in only a year.
Additionally, Take 5 reported today that during the first half of 2019 the brand signed area development agreements to open 58 new franchised locations and also acquired Advance Kwik Lube, a 25-unit quick lube and automotive service chain in Texas.
“2019 has proved to be the strongest year of growth for Take 5 with the acquisition of Advance Kwik Lube and a 97% year-over-year increase in signed area development agreements for Take 5 – a testament to the continued demand for fast, convenient oil change services nationwide,” said Jon Gaiman, Chief Development Officer, Take 5. “We look forward to continuing this growth as we expand our footprint across the nation.”
Take 5’s 400th store – located in Covington, Louisiana – will be owned and operated by franchisee Pete Frey, who spent nearly 20 years with the company in various roles, including President/CEO and Senior Vice President of Corporate Culture. Frey was instrumental in working with Take 5’s founder, Monty Montgomery, to develop the brand’s current drive-thru service model. When Frey retired in 2018, he became a Take 5 franchisee.
“I wanted to stay active with Take 5, so it only took me about 15 seconds to say ‘yes’ when I was asked if I was interested in signing a franchise agreement,” Frey said, adding that he’s also developing a drive-thru of New Orleans-based PJ’s Coffee on the site. “I want to make our store a model example of what a Take 5 should be and show future franchisees why Take 5 is a strong investment opportunity. As the franchisor, Take 5 does the heavy lifting, so all franchisees have to do is focus on the customer experience, the playbook, our employee culture, and profitability. We’re the perfect company to scale.”
